Seven women competed for the title of Miss Quincy and four teenagers competed Miss Quincy’s Outstanding Teen at the Quincy Community Theatre.
Jessica Fox was crowned Miss Quincy and McKenna Merritt was crowned Miss Quincy’s Outstanding Teen Saturday evening. Also, seven little girls were crowned as Quincy Princesses.
The competition comprised of an interview, onstage question, talent, teen lifestyle and fitness, and evening gown and Social Impact Statement.
The reigning Miss Quincy, Taylor Hardy, shared some advice for the new Miss Quincy.
“If there is something that she wants to do, I want her to realize that and not be afraid to ask for help to make sure that’s accomplished,” said Hardy. “And to take advantage of every opportunity that she can, because like I said, it’s one year it goes by really, really quick and you won’t get it back.”
Fox received a $3,000 scholarship from Gully Transportation. She will go on to compete for Miss Illinois this June.
