Ralls County Water District’s new water treatment plant on track to open in summer

Work to upgrade the water supply for Ralls County Water District is on schedule according to officials.

Ralls County Water Officials said once the new water treatment facility north of Hannibal opens this summer, customers will have softer water and more consistent rates. Currently the supply comes from the Hannibal Board of Public Works.

Even though the new facility is in Marion County off of Highway 61, officials said this is closer to the water wells and the distribution system.

“The impact for the customers I think is more of the peace of mind that rates will be controlled and managed better from our end,” said Ralls County Water District Manager Lucas Drullinger.

The new treatment facility means there will be fewer deposits on water fixtures and plumbing. They expect the plant to be running by June 1st.
