Tri-State man arrested for obstructing justice, failure to register as sex offender

Pittsfield, IL (WGEM) — Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood has reported the arrest of a Beardstown, Illinois, man.

Greenwood stated that Joshua Hare, 29 was taken into custody Monday on a Greene County, Illinois, warrant.

At 11 a.m. the Pittsfield Police Department located Hare and attempted to take him into custody, but Hare fled on foot. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office was able to apprehend him after about 20 minutes in a field near the Little League Park, Greenwood stated.

The Pittsfield Police Department charged Hare with obstructing justice due to Hare providing the officer with a false name.
