The new man in charge of the Quincy family YMCA introduced himself to the community today.

Jim Chamberlain, the new CEO of West Central Illinois YMCA, previously served on the board of directors at the Y in Peoria Illinois, and said the Y has played a big role in his life since he was young.

Chamberlain said his background in consulting and manufacturing makes him passionate about streamlining businesses and organizations, something he hopes to use to drive the Y forward.

“We have a great facility here at our y, but it’s not just the facility, it’s about how we’re using that to reach people, help them meet their goals, get healthier, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually,” said Chamberlain.

Chamberlain says his goal is to capitalize on the good things that the Quincy Y is already doing for the community.
