Top city official resigns

Quincy, (WGEM) — Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore announced the resignation of Director of Administrative Services Skip Bright on Tuesday.

Moore stated that Bright’s last day with the city would be February 1. He said the resignation was “to spend more time with his family.”

Moore stated:

“The City of Quincy saw some very difficult times during Skip’s service as Director of Administrative Services. He provided world-class executive level experience which helped the city navigate a very challenging budget cycle and union negotiations. Under Skip’s leadership, our team of directors worked closer and more cohesively than ever before. While we are sad to see Skip’s time with the city end, we certainly understand his desire to spend more time with his family.”

Bright stated that he was able to spend more time with his family during the holidays which led to his desire to have more free time to spend with them.

Bright stated:

“Working with our directors, the City Council and Mayor Moore has been a rewarding experience. As Director of Administrative Services, I have seen firsthand how dedicated city employees are to provide the very best service for the citizens of Quincy. I have recently been able to spend more time with my family, and although it is not an easy choice, I would like to be able to spend more time with them.”
