Shoppers busy buying winter weather supplies

Winter weather supplies were back in the forefront of many Quincy stores.

Farm and Home Supply in Quincy moved their shovels and salt to the front of the store on Friday.

Employees say they weren’t planning on shoppers coming to buy winter weather supplies as much as they were, especially after the warmer temperatures we saw earlier this week.

However, shoppers say when the snow started to move in, they realized they needed to be prepared.

“I just moved into the area,” said Quincy resident Michael Alvarez. “I’ve been living in the desert for the last three years for the Marine Corp and I don’t have a shovel so with the storm coming in I kind of need one.”

“With the snow being forecasted all of the day and tonight and in to tomorrow I just figured it was time to come out and get some snow shovels so that way I can be proactive,” said Quincy resident Randy Whitaker.

Most hardware stores around town will continue to have winter weather supplies out as needed.
