“Operation Iced Out” results more arrests, indictments

McDonough County, IL (WGEM) — McDonough County Sheriff Nicholas Petitgout and Macomb Police Chief Curt Barker have announced multiple arrests and indictments resulting from Operation Iced Out by the Macomb/McDonough County Drug Unit.

Petitgout stated that on January 23, Cynthia Huss, 35, of Lomax, Illinois, and Cherie Willits, 40, of Burlington, Iowa, were indicted for distributing methamphetamine throughout several counties in West Central Illinois.

Petitgout reported that a federal investigation has been ongoing for the last eight months and has covered McDonough County, Knox County, Warren County, Henderson County, Mercer County, Fulton County, Hancock County, and Burlington, Iowa.

Petitgout stated that during the course of the investigation, law enforcement seized over two pounds of methamphetamine and multiple firearms. Investigators also learned that approximately 50 pounds of methamphetamine a month was being distributed throughout the seven west central Illinois counties.

Petitgout reported that the following subjects have been arrested for possessing or delivering methamphetamine during Operation Iced Out:

Dinara Lewis, 33 – Brooklyn, Illinois


Mathew Curtis, 35 – Rushville, Illinois


Marcia Shafer, 46 – Burlington, Iowa


Michael Snodgrass, 44 – Macomb, Illinois
