2 Pleasant Hill, IL residents arrested for meth

Pleasant Hill, IL (WGEM) — A man and woman were arrested in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, Tuesday for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Pike County Sheriff David Greenwood reported that Rebecca Orr, 37, and Timothy Shanks, 36, both of Pleasant Hill, were arrested Tuesday at 3:01 p.m.

Greenwood stated the arrest came following a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Houston St. in Pleasant Hill. During the search Plesant Hill Police, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, and the West Central Illinois Drug Task force seized numerous plastic baggies, drug paraphernalia, prescription medication, and U.S. currency.

Orr was charged with unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Shanks was charged with possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Shanks is currently on a mandatory supervised release from the Illinois Department of Corrections. According to the IDOC website, Shanks was released from prison on or about January 22.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services assisted with the investigation.

Greenwood stated this is the second drug-related search warrant conducted in Pleasant Hill within a few days.

The Pleasant Hill Chief of Police, Zack Orr, said his department along with the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the West Central Illinois Drug Task Force will continue to investigate all leads regarding possible drug activity.
