Keokuk, IA (WGEM) — Assistant Chief of Police Jay Whitaker of the Keokuk Police Department has reported the arrest of a Keokuk man for theft and trafficking stolen firearms.
Whitaker stated that Elijah Burris, 25, was arrested following the investigation of the theft of a firearm from a Keokuk pawn shop.
Whitaker stated that Burris was charged with;
- Warrant for Trafficking Stolen Firearms, a Class D Felony.
- Warrant for Theft 4th Degree, a Serious Misdemeanor.
If convicted of all charges, Burris faces up to six years in a state correctional facility. This investigation remains active.
