Threatening Weather Causes Cancellations And Postponements On The Local Prep Hardwood

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

The weather continues to play a large part in the drama surrounding the duties of high school athletic directors

across the Tri-States.  At Quincy Notre Dame, AD Bill Connell has been working the phones and texting most of

the day trying to keep to keep everyone updated on tonight’s Unity-QND varsity basketball game.

After a few hours of keeping the game on the schedule, it was finally postponed late this afternoon during the

4:00 p.m. hour.  Unity Athletic Director Frank Cash made the call with ice on the streets, sidewalks, and

school parking lot in Mendon, Illinois. We thought that a make-up date for Thursday was set, but the

Mustangs had a conflict in scheduling, so we’re standing by regarding finding a date that the game might be

able to be rescheduled.  It’s been that kind of day for AD’s everywhere throughout  the region.

The Blue Devils of Quincy High School held practice on the hardwood on Tuesday, trying to take advantage of

the canceled game to work on getting better as a team. Keeping a steady routine, as well as maintaining their

focus, is vital at this point of the season for the Western Big 6 Conference contenders.
