The Lee County Economic Development Group held a breakfast Thursday to discuss how to put more residents in good paying jobs.
Economic Development Project Director Dana Millard said about 35 community leaders attended the Grow Lee breakfast. Their goal is to create programs to better the community.
“At the top of the funnel is our elementary and middle school students,” Millard said. “We are also launching a Bridges Out of Poverty program in Lee County, providing individuals a hand up, not a hand-out, to break the cycle of generational poverty.”
Millard said the group’s next goal is to help even more students and individuals in 2019.
