It was a night to shine for some people in Quincy Friday night.

Almost a thousand people packed The Crossing church to celebrate the prom themed night.

Over 200 people with special needs got the full red carpet treatment wearing crowns and tiaras.

Organizers said it’s a meaningful event while those who attended said  it’s one of the highlights of their year

“A lot of fun and it’s really really nice to come here. A lot of people dance and eat and we have a lot of fun. I enjoy it,” said Seth Coons.

“This is an opportunity for us to bring them in here, have a dancing night and to just let them know they are so special and they are God’s masterpiece,” said Pastor Kory Hollensteiner.

This was the 5th year for the night to shine event at The Crossing in Quincy.
