Hannibal made another national list and tourism officials said they hope it will encourage more people to visit the city.
The Travel Channel recently named Hannibal Missouri’s most charming town in a list highlighting the most charming small town in each state.
Hannibal’s attractions related to Mark Twain, along with the riverboat, Tom Sawyer Days, and the Steampunk festival were reasons for their pick.
Hannibal tourism officials said the new list has people looking to visit.
“But we’ve also gotten a few that say oh we saw the thing about the travel channel and that reminded us of our trip to Hannibal, so it’s great during our bicentennial year when we have so many things going on,” said Hannibal Convention and Visitors Bureau Official Megan Rapp.
Alton, Illinois, hometown of jazz legend Miles Davis, and Decorah, Iowa made the list for their respective states.
