Arts Quincy holds first ever Follow Your Heart Brunch

People gathered at the Quincy Country Club Sunday afternoon for the first ever Follow Your Heart Brunch, put on by Arts Quincy.

The fundraiser included a live cake decorating contest, a silent auction, a brunch and live music.

All the cakes and floral arrangements were raffled off, with all the proceeds going to Arts Quincy’s School Programs.

Officials said the need for arts programming is growing, something they hope the brunch helps fund.

“It really supports all the programs that Arts Quincy does, but especially our kids’ programs and our veterans’ programs,” Arts Quincy Executive Director Laura Sievert said. “So it’s a really terrific turnout. You know we had a little bit of the snow this morning, but people are turning out because I think Quincy really understands that the arts are fundamental to what makes this town a great place to live and work.”

WGEM’s Alexandra Carter was a special judge for the cake decorating contest and Sievert says they plan on making the brunch an annual event.
