An investigation is underway into what caused an early morning garage fire in Montrose, Iowa.
Chief Jason Dinwiddie with Montrose Fire and Rescue says the call came in around 3:45 Sunday morning to a report of a fire in the attached garage of a home on the 2300 block of 340th Street.
When crews arrived they found the garage fully engulfed with the flames starting to spread into the home.
Chief Dinwiddie says the garage is considered a total loss. There is also significant smoke and fire damage inside the home.
No injuries were reported.
Along with Montrose Fire and Rescue, crews from Des Moines Township, Jackson Township, Donnellson Fire Department, Keokuk Fire Department, Lee County EMS, and the Lee County Sheriff were all on hand to help assist.
