After the success of bringing back the Quincy Grand Prix after 17 years last year, organizers are expecting more racers and a larger crowd this June.
That’s why preparations for the Quincy Grand Prix are already taking place according to Rome Frericks, Quincy Park District Executive Director. He said right now they are making arrangements for the safety barricades, working with vendors and sponsors, and spreading the word across the country.
“We want to get the word out there from Florida to California to New York,” said Frericks. “So, that way we can try to get the most karters here as we possibly can.”
Over 17 years ago South Park was widely known it’s track.
“[South Park] like the Daytona 500 for the karting world,” Frericks explained. “So, just talking with people last year they just loved the ambiance and the background and all the turns that south park provides.”
The race is June 8-9 and is free to the public.
