Health officials said knowing your blood pressure can be the first step towards being more proactive with your health.
Blessing Hospital is offering an easier way to get started by providing free screenings at the Quincy Mall.
Every Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., people can stop by the Blessing Hospital kiosk inside the mall near the water fountain to speak with nurses about basic health information and receive a free blood pressure screening.
Quincy Mall Property Manager Mike Jenkins said it is just one of the many services they want to offer people who visit the mall.
“It’s all important stuff to the well-being and the health of the Quincy community,” Jenkins said.
Blessing Registered Nurse & Outreach Coordinator Laura Wietholder said high blood pressure can impact heart health and the kiosk has helped people monitor their health with their doctors.
“The community is always welcome to come out, we love seeing new faces here and getting to know people and helping them maybe start that health journey,” Wietholder said.
Wietholder adds they also keep the kiosk stocked with information on other health issues including the flu and notes on warning signs that may indicate when you should see a doctor.
