Palmyra to make former police station new city council chambers

Palmyra plans to update it’s city council chambers.

The city plans to use the former police station for the new chambers.

Right now, the city is using a space that is not handicap accessible.

But city officials said they are in no rush to complete the project. They said it could take 1 or 2 years.

“Easier for residents to get to if they need to come to a meeting and they are handicapped. It’s not going to happen right away, it’s something that we’re working with overtime,” said city clerk Kristen Olson.

City officials said the renovations will cost between $20,000 and $30,000.
