Republican Eric Entrup will be the nominee for Quincy’s 1st Ward Alderman after defeating Greg Fletcher in Tuesday’s aldermanic primary.
Entrup is seeking to serve another term as alderman.
Entrup got 61% of the vote.
He says there’s still a lot he wants to see accomplished.
“For me it’s part of the ward, is one of the older parts of Quincy and it’s just deteriorated and it needs to be addressed,” he said.
For Ward 7, Democrat Benjamin Uzelac is the nominee after beating Justin Crouch. Crouch announced last week he was stepping down from the race due to health reasons and urged residents to vote for Uzelac.
“I’ve got some younger, fresher ideas and a different perspective for the ward, I think, that I’d like to see implemented,” he said.
Uzelac got 69% of the vote and will face Terri Heinecke in the general election.
