Hannibal man arrested in connection to storage facility burglaries

HANNIBAL (WGEM) — Hannibal Police have arrested a Hannibal man in connection to several storage facility burglaries.

Lt. John Zerbonia reported that Hannibal Police arrested Richard Thrun, 40, on Monday for his possible involvement in the burglaries of the Ole Miss Mini Storage facility located at S. 7th and Warren Barrett Dr.

Zerbonia stated that officers located Thrun in the 900 block of Lyon St. and he attempted to flee on foot. After a short pursuit, he was taken into custody.

The arrest stems from the investigation into a report of a suspicious person Saturday morning at the storage facility, where officers discovered several storage units had been broken into and items removed.

Zerbonia stated Thrun was arrested on charges of Burglary 2nd Degree, Property Damage, 2 counts of Resisting Arrest and 2 Probation and Parole Warrants.

Thrun was placed in the Marion County Jail on the burglary charges and the Felony warrants.

If anyone believes they have items missing from these storage units, they are asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at the Hannibal Police Department.
