Wednesday evening in the Gem City, The 11th seeded Blazers of John Wood Community College went through a “partial” practice session on the hardwood.
The workout session started at 6:00 p.m. at “The Wood Pile” under the watchful eye of head coach Brad Hoyt.
The JWCC coaching staff wanted to give the Blazers an opportunity to get their legs back, and conditioning in-check, after their two days off for Spring Break.
On Thursday, the real work begins with two practices set up for 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on the Quincy campus.
According to Hoyt, the Region 24 Champions will follow that same workout schedule through Monday of next week.
At this point, the players and coaches at JWCC are just enjoying having an opportunity to represent John Wood in a positive way.
They’re also relishing the chance to compete in the national spotlight in the days ahead as they set their sights on winning a national championship.
