For the first time in five years, the Quincy High softball team has taken on a new training routine to help the squad prepare for the upcoming season.

The ladies have hit the weight room, and so far the results have been very positive.

QHS head coach Darrell Henze has instituted the new training plan to help the Blue Devils improve their overall strength throughout the long softball season.

A season that gets undwerway, hopefully (weather permitting), on March 18 when QHS is set to play host to Alton.

Reharding the new weight training program, Henze stated, “So this is kinda new a little bit of a test, just going to kinda see what the progress is.”

He went on to add, “So far I have been pleased with the results that I’ve seen.”

Quincy started their weight training back in January. At this point, the team remains quite focused on doing all they can to help improve on last seasons (15-18) overall record.
