Quincy park board okays capital projects

The Quincy Park District is working to improve several of their parks and they plan to spend a decent amount of money doing so.

Wednesday night, the Quincy park board approved capital bond projects for this year.

Projects include resurfacing of roads and parking lots at at least four of the parks including Moorman Park.

Officials said bids to do that work came in under $400,000, well below what they estimated.

“It’s great so it’s just that way we can do more projects this year and with the savings on that we’re looking to do Lenane park as well which is just an added feature to where we can kinda knock more roads out,” said executive director Rome Frericks.

Frericks said they hope to have access to all of their parks reopened for the public by April 1st.
