Stolen vehicle tip leads to arrest in Quincy

A Missouri man was arrested in Quincy Wednesday morning after police were tipped off about a stolen vehicle.

Quincy police said they arrested Steven Clay, 43, of La Grange, Missouri at 1:08 a.m. Wednesday after officers found the stolen vehicle where he was staying at the Eagles Nest Hotel on South 3rd Street.

Officers said they received a tip on Tuesday about a vehicle that was stolen from Lewis County, Missouri on Tuesday.

After trying to make contact with Clay several times, officers then executed a search warrant on his room and vehicle.

Police arrested Clay after finding a loaded shotgun in the room.

Clay was placed in Adams County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

His bond was set at $15,000.
