A local program announced scholarships for 471 Quincy families Monday.
Gene Grawe Fund President JoAnn Witte said the program has now exceeded more than $2 million used by Quincy families.
Witte announced a total of more than $288,000 in awards Monday night. She said this money helps kids attend parochial schools.
“Our motto pretty well is serving God by helping each other and that’s what we’re trying to do,” Witte said. “Families can help themselves but we’re also helping each other, and there’s many people that come into St. Peter’s Church to buy gift cards and it helps all the families.”
84 of Monday night’s families will receive at least $1,000 off their child’s tuition.
