You could soon see more wind mills in Illinois, thanks to a new law signed by Gov. J.B. Pritzker Friday.
According to the Associated Press, Pritzker signed a law streamlining zoning rules for wind farms. This will make it so townships have no say in the process.
Pritzker predicts the change will spur investment in rural areas.
The measure was sponsored by Chicago Democrats Rep. Ann Williams and Sen. Bill Cunningham. Cunningham said the law will end “unnecessary government regulation” in creating wind farms.
