With the annual “Brown and White” Spring Football Game set for next Saturday at QU Stadium, the Hawks don’t have too much time to waste.
They can’t afford to let “Mother Nature” put a damper on their practice schedule even for a day with their spring game now less that 10 days away.
The Hawks were back on the turf this afternoon in the gem city with a clear focus and determination in their eyes.
New Hawks Offensive Coordinator Keith Barefield is responsible for that. He’s had the Hawks working hard trying to maintain the team’s new up-tempo style on every snap.
It’s all a part of the process to help QU put more points on the board next season. Third year head coach Gary Bass has made that a top priority for next seasons team.
That’s a big reason why Barefield was brought on-board during the off-season.
So far, the Hawks new “OC” is excited about the new sense of urgency he’s trying to bring to Quincy University in 2019.
“Trying to do a lot of different concepts than what they’ve done before.”
Hawks (JR) quarterback Andrew Rund stated, “We’re really going up tempo and that’s something we’ve never done here so it definitely was a change but we have really embraced it and right
now we’re really clicking.”
