Changes are coming to how often you’ll pay your water bill in Quincy next year.
City council voted Monday night to change from quarterly billing to monthly billing.
City Engineer Jeffrey Conte said that change will help both the city and residents.
He said it should make it easier for families to budget on a monthly basis.
“A lot of times there will be small leaks that people don’t know about and after three months it accumulates and they get a very large bill. That’s very inconvenient for both parties,” said Conte. “So cutting that time between meter readings from three months to one month will reduce that dramatically.”
Conte expects the city to switch to the new monthly billing in January of 2020.
