Despite the rain Thursday evening, families at Lincoln-Douglas Elementary in Quincy enjoyed this year’s Spring Fling.

Organizers said the event has been a tradition at the school for years.

It features games and raffles.

They said this year’s event was important because of new families attending the school with new district lines for elementary schools.

“That is our goal. We have lots of new families in the building this year so we just want to open up the doors and let them know what a great place Lincoln-Douglas is,” said K-2 PTA Vice President Denise Moore.

Money raised goes towards different events the PTA holds each year.
