WEST QUINCY, MO (WGEM) — Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Shinn has reported that an investigation into a death in West Quincy, Missouri, has reveled that a Quincy man died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

Shinn stated that the body of Thomas Lavery, 70, was discovered Monday night and was transported to Columbia, Missouri, for an autopsy.

Shinn stated that Lavery was reported missing on May 12. Authorities from Illinois were able to trace his location by his cellular phone to a building on Highway 24 in West Quincy where his body was discovered.
