Tuesday morning at Keokuk High the Chiefs had a trio of student-athletes sign national letters of intent.

All three are now set to continue their basketball careers.

7-footer Alex Wolter is headed to St. Ambrose University.

Abby Arrowood signed with Ellsworth Community College.

MacKenzie Northup signed her NLI with William Penn University.

After the signing ceremony came to a close, all three future college players shared their excitement regarding making the jump to the next level.

Wolter said, “I was also able to meet some of the guys while visiting my brother and just their facilities are nice up there and the college aspect from an education is really good also.

So it’s just a good fit totally.”

Arrowood said that, “It’s a really great feeling, like I’ve pushed really hard during the four years that I’ve played basketball here and it’s exciting to finally to get to the point where I get to move on in my basketball career and I’m super excited and looking forward to going there now.”

Northup added that, “Then I went to William Penn and it was such a community environment and I love that.

Coach was even telling me about like one game in the year they play their rival or something and they all take toilet paper and throw it across and like it’s snowing.

So I think it’ll be like a really cool environment to play in.”
