New owner for 1 of St. Louis’ biggest buildings

ST. LOUIS (AP) — One of downtown St. Louis’ largest buildings may soon have a new owner.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that according to a report from a securities analytics firm, an “acceptable offer” was made during an auction last month for the building that formerly housed AT&T. It has been empty since the fall of 2017, when about 2,000 employees were relocated to other downtown offices.

The prospective purchaser has not been announced, but the sale is expected to conclude this month.

The 44-story building includes 1.4 million square feet, making it the largest office building by square-footage in the St. Louis region. It was built in 1986.

The building was placed into receivership in 2017 after U.S. Bank National Association Trustee sued its former owner and foreclosed.
