As the water along the Mississippi river continues to recede, those along the river continue to feel the impact from flooding.
Members of Rocky Point Club on Bonansinga Drive in Quincy said they’re dealing with the aftermath of five feet of water in the building.
Club president Roy Riddle said it’s a total loss, as they weren’t expecting that much water.
He said all appliances in the kitchen are ruined and there’s mud covering everything inside. But they’re not cleaning up just yet.
“The prediction this week so far is going to be 24.4 feet here which will put a few inches of water back on the floor,” Riddle said. “So it’s not going to do us any good to come back in and start cleaning up until we know the water is going to stay down.”
Riddle said they are covered by flood insurance. He said once they know the water is going to stay down, it could take months to clean up, before re-opening.
