City of Macomb selling property to add to its budget

The city of Macomb is looking to sell property which would increase its general fund.

City Administrator Scott Coker said the list includes city buses, public works vehicles, and items seized from the police department.

He said the surplus materials would be sold to another government agency that with the goal of generating more revenue into the city budget.

The city also will look to adopt an ordinance on this at city council Monday night.

Coker said municipalities across the state have to record and publish what is on the market for sale.
