Hannibal man arrested for child endangerment after teen becomes intoxicated

LEWIS COUNTY, MO (WGEM) — The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a Hannibal man for endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, a class B felony.

The sheriff’s office stated that Matthew Wisdom, 35, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly endangering the welfare of a 13 -year-old female in May, 2018 in Taylor, Lewis County, Missouri.

The sheriff”s office stated that Wisdom was in charge of the care of the 13-year-old girl during this time and that the girl became extremely intoxicated and was later taken to a medical facility for treatment purposes.

The sheriff’s office told WGEM News that Wisdom allegedly purchased alcohol for the girl.

Wisdom was located in Quincy and taken into custody by the Quincy Police Department.

Wisdom remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $20,000 cash only bond.
