Marblehead residents still boating in and out of homes, pumping water

In Marblehead, residents are still waiting on the water to recede, and others are unhappy with the way the roads in the area have been managed during the flooding.

Some residents in Marblehead are still boating in and out of their homes, business owners have also been dealing with flooding in storage areas. Residents said the gravel used to fortify the road from flooding has caused dust to be spread all over vehicles and property, they say they would’ve preferred sandbagging or another method.

“They wasted a lot of tax payers money doing what they did, and they could’ve done what they did in 93′, saved a lot of money, a lot of hassle, a lot of time,” said local business owner and resident Russ Board, who has had dust coat some of the vehicles he’s working on.

Some residents also are still pumping seepage water out of their basements, and plan to leave sandbagging in place until they know they’re in the clear.
