Volunteers no longer needed to sandbag in Quincy

QUINCY (WGEM) — The Adams County Emergency Management Agency has reported that they are demobilizing local resources at the Oakley-Lindsay Center’s sandbagging operation Wednesday.

Officials stated that with the continued downturn of the river, issues have stabilized along the levees in Adams County and volunteers would no longer be needed to sandbag.

The National Guard, IDOT and other state resources will continue to work at this site responding to state missions.

Officials stated that the Adams County Emergency Operations Center will continue to monitor and coordinate response efforts.
