High water is causing quite the inconvenience for drivers in areas of Missouri and Iowa.

Highway 61 in Alexandria, Missouri, is still closed, as water has taken over the entire area, including the Ayerco and Smokerz Outlet.

This is the third time the road has been closed due to flooding in the past two months.

For residents who live in Alexandria, they said they’re wasting a lot of time taking the detour.

“It’s just terrible,” Alexandria resident Nancy Prunty said. “We can usually get into Keokuk in like eight to ten minutes. Now it’s 35 to 40 minutes going down, what’s called Arglye Road and it’s curvy and hilly and a lot of traffic.”

There is no word on when the road will open. Emergency management officials said it will remain closed until the water goes down.
