In just five days the 46th Annual Pepsi Little People’s Golf Championships will commence once again in the Gem City.
The annual tournament will tee off on Sunday with parent child tournament, a great way to spend father’s day for many of the pairings.
The tournament is well represented as always with a diverse field from competitors coming to the Gem City from Barbados to South Africa and four other foreign countries.
At the helm from day one is founder and executive director Nan Ryan who had big plans for the tournament 45 years ago, but even even she has trouble believing how far it has come in nearly five decades.
Ryan said, “No I didn’t have any idea that it would last this long.
And I just, I would love to make 50 years with it. I think it’s so important for the kids to have a place to play this kind of competition.
It’s great for Quincy kids who can play on their own home course and play with kids from, well this year we have 22 states represented.”
