Work continues on the facade of Quincy’s Lincoln Douglas Apartments.
Crews were out on Tuesday working on the 8th floor located on the east side of the building. City crews say the brick on that side of the building needed to be anchored back to the structure. Similar to what they did back in May on the south side of the building when bricks fell off during a rain storm.
“They’ll just be able to tie back with some remedial anchors, tie that brick wall back to the wall that backs it up,” said Michael Seaver with the City of Quincy Inspection and Enforcement Office.
Seaver says work will continue for another week or so. No word yet on when Maine street between 3rd and 4th going west-bound will re-open.
