Missouri Route 79 south of Hannibal reopened

HANNIBAL (WGEM) — The Missouri Department of Transportation has reported that Route 79 south of Hannibal is now open.

MoDOT officials reported that flood water from the Mississippi River has gone down enough for the road to be reopened.

The road had been closed due to flooding since May 27.

MoDOT officials reminded drivers that there are still numerous roads flooded in Missouri. Please refer to the online traveler map at www.modot.org for updates.
