The old gym floor at Quincy Junior High School is gone.
The QPS board approved replacing the floor and now the work has been done to take it out.
Officials say the floor they’re taking out is the gym’s original floor, which has several water-damaged spots.
However, the original floor isn’t going to waste.
It’s being re-purposed into other projects across the country, and even as far away as Japan.
However, there’s also opportunities for keepsakes.
“Most of all we’d like the local people in the area to come on out and pick up some of this so they can have some memorabilia and support Quincy Jr. Public High School as well,” said Chuck McNett.
Work on the gym is set to be done around mid-July.
Proceeds from what is sold will go straight back into the school
