New garbage totes are continuing to be dropped off at homes around Quincy, for those who signed up for the program.
City officials say they received 500 totes at the beginning of this month. Since then, crews have been out delivering totes each day. In fact, 300 have already been dropped off at various homes throughout town just this week.
Kevin McClean with Quincy Central Services says the response from homeowners interested in the city’s new garbage program has been surprising.
“I actually didn’t think there would be this many at the beginning but it’s actually a good thing,” said McClean. “These totes are sturdy and they have wheels on them so they work out well for everybody.”
McClean says they’ll get in another 500 totes at the end of this month. So if you haven’t gotten your tote yet and you signed up for the program, you should be getting one in the next couple of weeks.
