Hannibal Broadway storefronts get new paint ahead of Bicentennial parade

Next time you’re driving down Broadway in Hannibal, you may notice some more colorful buildings.

Two buildings have brand new paint jobs, and more improvements could be on the way.

Coleen’s Beauty Salon and a neighboring dance studio are the first recipients. Linda Coleberd, Beautification Chairperson for Hannibal Bicentennial, said it’s all to prepare for events like parades on Broadway for the Bicentennial.

“We did get the paint donated by Sherman Williams, and Patriot Painting here in town gave me a dynamite deal on painting those two storefronts downtown,” said Coleberd, adding that they’ve been discussing putting in new trees along Broadway, and have also been talking to storefront owners on Broadway about sprucing up their businesses as well.
