John Wood Community College and Quincy University are hosting Camp College, where high school students can come and learn more about colleges close to home.

The event is open to both parents and students. It will begin at JWCC and end at QU.

It is intended to give students a closer look at opportunities and programs the colleges have to offer.

“The goal for John Wood and QU putting together Camp College is really to help students understand the college process, be more comfortable with the decisions they’re going to be making in the near future, and to realize the opportunities that are right here in Quincy,” said John Wood Director of Admissions, Kristen Ritterbusch.

The camp is Friday, July 26 from 9:30 to 2:30. The event is free, and students can register on John Wood’s website, jwcc.edu, or QU’s website at quincy.edu.
