Upgrades are on their way to the Canton Public Library thanks to grants from the state of Missouri.

Canton’s library is getting a grant of around $5,000 which can be used to upgrade technology at the library and fund programs that help promote literacy. Library officials said this grant paired with another $2,500 grant they got earlier in the year to help update their collection has been a massive help to their operation.

“For a small rural library like this, it really is nice to have extra funding so we can update our computers for the kids, maybe get some new software, it allowed us to bring mad science up from st. Louis for our summer reading program,” said Canton Public Library Director Trina Karl.

Library officials said they have many different programs going on this summer, and for more information to either give them a call  at (573) 288-5279 or visit their website here.
