Veteran on cross country mission makes a stop in the Tri-States

QUINCY – A veteran walking from coast to coast to raise awareness for veteran homelessness stopped in the Tri-States Saturday afternoon.

Massachusetts native and five year Air Force veteran William Shuttlesworth decided to undertake the nearly 3,000 mile trek last summer after meeting a couple of homeless veterans.

He says those who choose to defend our country deserve more for their service.

“Every free breath you or I take comes at the cost of a veteran willing to sign on a dotted line to give his or her life to pay,” Shuttlesworth said. “Don’t you think they deserve better?”

He started his walk in May and is scheduled to reach an Air Force base in California by October.

You can keep up with his journey on Facebook or donate to his mission.
