Man who served as nursing home chaplain arrested on sex abuse charges

The Quincy Police Department has reported that a man who served as a chaplain at a Quincy nursing home has been arrested on sexual abuse charges.

Detective Adam Gibson reported that on June 6, QPD was contacted by the administration of a local nursing home located at 2130 Harrison. Good Samaritan Home is listed at that address. They advised that they had been alerted by residents of alleged inappropriate sexual contact by a chaplain who is no longer employed at the home.

Gibson stated that after conducting an investigation, James Riley, 58, of Quincy, was arrested and lodged for Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of a person over 60.

The investigation was done in cooperation of the nursing home administration and is also being investigated by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
