Cleanup along Hannibal trails could take months

Some trails and parks in Hannibal remain a mess from flooding.

A layer of dried mud is still on top of most spots along the Bear Creek Trail.

Also debris like tree limbs and other items are scattered about the area.

Parks and Rec officials said it could take months to clean up this trail and trails at the Sodalis Nature Preserve.

“The parks dept and the street dept are going to use the street sweeper and get all the mud and dust off the trails but there is a lot of debris there so that’s what we’re going to ask the community to help us with,” said Mary Lynne Richards with the parks department.

If you would like to help out, the parks and rec department is holding a community cleanup on Saturday July 13th.
