A woman was shot and two deputies suffered minor injuries late Tuesday night in an officer-involved shooting in the Spencer Creek area in Ralls County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Sgt. Eric Brown said it happened around 11:25 p.m. after Ralls County deputies were called to the scene for an incident.
Brown said deputies came in contact with an armed woman and gunfire was exchanged.
Brown said the woman was shot by one of the deputies and taken to a hospital in St. Louis via air ambulance. Brown did not release the woman’s name or the extent of her injuries.
Brown said two Ralls County deputies suffered minor injuries at the scene and were treated at a local hospital and released.
Sgt. Brown said no additional information will be released until sometime next week. He said it will be a lengthy investigation.
The state Division of Drug and Crime Control has stepped in to investigate what happened.
